Chris Williams is the drummer for UK Thrash Metal band, Shrapnel. The band have supported and toured with the likes of Exodus, Sepultura, Overkill, Death Angel, Destruction, Voivod, Evile, Suicidal Tendencies, Xentrix, Acid Reign, and most recently, Wolf. Known throughout the UK metal scene for his hard-hitting approach and blistering double bass drumming, the no-nonsense power of Chris’ drum work can be heard on Shrapnel’s latest release, the tenth anniversary EP ‘Decade Of Decimation’ (2019, Candlelight/Spinefarm Records). The new EP, engineered by Scott Atkins (Vader/Sylosis/Cradle Of Filth/Gama Bomb/Savage Messiah) at Grindstone Studios in Suffolk, features three re-recordings and new song ‘Live Vindictive’. The EP provides a taster of things to come from Shrapnel’s forthcoming third studio album for Candlelight Records, scheduled for release in 2020. Chris attributes his much of his playing style to his three main influences: Lars Ulrich, Dave Lombardo, and Paul Bostaph.
