My name is James Pipprell drummer for UK Black metal act ‘NInkharsag’ I have played drums from since around the age of 14. I first got hooked on drumming by listening to Steven Adler from Guns ‘n’ Roses slapping the Hi-hats and cowbell on the intro to Nightrain. As I matured I discovered my passion for extreme metal from bands such as Cradle Of Filth, Dimmu Borgir and Mayhem. Listening to these types of bands opened many doors for my technique. My all time favourite drummer has to be Mikkey Dee from Mötörhead/Scorpions such a machine behind the skins. As my playing evolved and got better I played for a few established acts such as Dragged Into Sunlight, Zombina and the Skeletones and Venom Prison with whom I did a couple of great tours with supporting the likes of Trivium, Powertrip, Code Orange, Aborted and many more. When Ninkharsag was formed (2011) I got the pleasure of creating and writing music with some of my best friends who are all extremely talented musicians. Our first album (The Blood Of Celestial Kings 2015) got attention from established label ‘Candlelight Records’. Our most successful release to date is our second release (The Dread March Of Solemn Gods 2021) which came out on Vendetta Records. We toured this album more than the first release and completed many headlining tours around UK and Europe. Drums have been a major part of my life and has taken me all around the world and got me through some tough times, I hope to continue this with more comfort knowing I have the backing of The London Drumstick Company behind me.
