BIO

Joe Birch is a drummer from London. His first band, Symposium, was signed to Infectious Records in the UK in 1996 while the band members were still in school. Symposium became renowned for their ferocious live shows, with Melody Maker music magazine proclaiming them “The best live band in Britain.” The band had a string of top 40 singles and albums and toured the UK and America. In 2023, Symposium signed to Cooking Vinyl Records, re-released their back catalog, and played a series of live shows to support it. After Symposium, Joe joined Hell is for Heroes, who signed with EMI Records and released a top 20 debut album, “The Neon Handshake,” recorded at the legendary Sound City Studios in Los Angeles. The band released their follow-up album, “Transmit Disrupt,” on Burning Heart/Epitaph Records and a self-titled third album in 2007, which was re-released on vinyl in 2024. Over the years, Hell is for Heroes has toured extensively across the UK and Europe and will be back on the road in April 2024 in support of their new single, “If Your Heart Will Answer.” Joe has also worked as a session drummer for numerous other acts and played on various live TV shows, including Top of the Pops, TFI Friday, Re-Covered, Born Sloppy, ITV at T in the Park, MTV2 Live from the Astoria, and more. He has made multiple appearances at festivals, including Reading & Leeds, V Festival, Phoenix, Isle of Wight, Glastonbury, 2000 Trees, T in the Park, Vans Warped Tour, and many others across Europe and America. Selected influences: Mitch Mitchell, Barriemore Barlow, Stewart Copeland, Dave Grohl, and Tre Cool.
