Matt Morris

My name is Matt Morris. I grew up in the Arlington, Texas area. I started playing drums in 1994 after my parents bought me my first drum kit. My main influences at the time were Green Day and Nirvana. I started to study Bill Stevenson’s drumming not long after and that’s the style I always felt most comfortable playing. In 1996, I was a junior in high school and it’s where I met a lot of the people I would begin to play in bands with.

I was in several punk bands in my teens, then got an opportunity to tour with Squad Five-O in 1999. After that, I helped form the band 41 Gorgeous Blocks, who are still going strong after 25 years!

My most recent band is Fire Sale, who consist of Matt Riddle, (former Face to Face, pulley, NUFAN bassist,) Christopher Swinney, (former Ataris guitarist,) Pedro Aida, (Shot Clock The Iron Roses,) and my cousin, Brad Edwards, who I’ve played with for the last 30 years.

I recently joined the punk band, Down by Law and just finished the latest album, Crazy Days.
