Orange County, NY is not as beautiful as the county with the same name in California nor as glamorous as New York’s titular city, making it the perfect place for a teenager to start banging on drums, which is exactly what Michael Normann—“Norm” to everyone he meets—did at age 14. After drumming in a series of local hardcore bands for nearly a decade, Norm took a hiatus from drumming to promote shows under the moniker Punk Vs. Fibrosis. In 2012, Norm came out of drum-retirement to join the Jukebox Romantics—a heartfelt punk rock in the vein of bands like Alkaline Trio, Bigwig and The Bouncing Souls—bringing with him a new style and drive that immediately impacted the band’s songwriting. Since joining Jukebox Romantics, the band has toured nonstop going coast to coast and overseas and including multiple appearances at Gainesville’s Fest, Vans Warped Tour, Pouzza Fest, SXSX.
