BIO

Growing up, Nick always loved music, but he never thought about playing an instrument until he was 10 and his neighbor needed someone to jam with. At that point, he hopped on his neighbor’s jazz kit and started to teach himself how to play drums. When Nick was just 12 years old, he occasionally would fill in on drums for prominent bass player, Mike Watt, as the “special guest” at local shows. By the time he turned 18 he became a legitimate fill-in for Mike. Throughout high school, Nick played in a few small punk bands, and started his first “real” project, LAW, when he was only 16. Thanks to LAW, Nick played close to 200 shows and recorded two full-length albums. In order to pursue other music projects Nick is no longer affiliated with LAW as of Spring 2019. Since June of 2018, Nick has been an active member of the rock and roll, “Dangerhouse” style punk-rock band, NEIGHBORHOOD BRATS (Dirt Cult Records, Taken By Surprise Records). They just finished a 22-day, US Spring (2019) tour where they played several shows with the mighty Adolescents from Orange County, California. He will also be playing with the BRATS during several upcoming tours including a 2-week European tour this June and another US tour in the fall. Nick also plays drums in a newer band from his hometown, San Pedro, called SLAUGHTERHOUSE – a band influenced from various styles of punk and hardcore, mixed with current Los Angeles sounds, 80’s goth and new wave. Out of high school, Nick attended Long Beach City College and graduated with honors with an associate’s degree in business management. He has decided to take a break after this, to take advantage of touring full-time. In addition to drumming, he has a passion for booking shows. Since early 2018, he has been the head assistant talent buyer for Alex and Paige Hernandez at Alex’s Bar in Long Beach, CA, and more recently, Brouwerij West in San Pedro, CA. He also works as a casual longshoreman, at the Port of Los Angeles of San Pedro and Long Beach, CA.
