Biography

A hard-hitting, groove-driven drummer with over 20 years of professional touring, recording and live experience, Simon Marsh first made his mark behind the kit with South West metallic punk outfit NoComply, before going on to co-found the critically acclaimed punk-rock and roots band Crazy Arm.

Over the years, Simon has performed extensively across the UK and Europe, appearing at festivals including Reading & Leeds, Download and 2000 Trees, as well as iconic venues including Brixton Academy, the Roundhouse and London Astoria. He has shared stages with artists including Frank Turner, Good Charlotte and Alkaline Trio, building a reputation for powerful, energetic playing that combines precision, feel and a relentless live presence.

Today, Simon is firmly focused on original music once again. He drums for Rat Attack, who have returned with new material, live shows and ambitious plans for the future, while 2026 also marks the return of NoComply, bringing Simon back together with the band where a major part of his musical journey began.

The next chapter is centred around writing, recording and touring, with both Rat Attack and NoComply forming a major part of Simon’s future plans alongside continued session work and collaborations with other artists.

Away from his own bands, Simon is available for professional live gigs, touring, dep work and studio sessions, bringing more than two decades of experience, preparation and consistency to every project.

Alongside performing, Simon continues to work as an experienced drum educator, helping the next generation of musicians develop their technique, confidence, groove and individual voice behind the kit.

With new music, returning projects and plenty more live work on the horizon, Simon is entering one of the most exciting and creatively active periods of his career.

Live performances at iconic venues like Reading and Leeds Festivals, Brixton Academy, and The Roundhouse have earned a reputation for unmatched energy, precision, and feel behind the kit. He has shared the stage with acts such as Frank Turner, Good Charlotte, and Alkaline Trio, always bringing intensity and finesse to every performance.

Currently, Simon drums for The Best of Grohl, where he channels the raw power of Foo Fighters, Nirvana, and Queens of the Stone Age, and for The Best of Coldplay, showcasing a more dynamic, textured approach to his craft.

When not performing, he is a dedicated drum educator, working with students of all levels to build strong fundamentals, develop their groove, and find their unique voice behind the kit.

Always pushing forward, Simon is also developing a new original project, with plans for future releases and tours.
