My journey began being taught by the great Jonathan Lewin back in 2007, and after a decade of his sage teaching it gave me the skills to take to the music industry with a grand entry. Taking to the fast paced and physically exhausting metal chops more so than abstract jazz or some samba (much to many neighbours and lecturer’s dismay), i attempt to emphasise speed, technique with creative linear and abstract fills topping off the list. After making all the standard drummer mistakes and ending up with a small wardrobe full to the brim of my broken sticks and snares (I don’t have a problem ,you have a problem), I just needed a band to join. Playing by myself is all well and good, but never what I wanted out of my forming drumming career as a performer. Joining up with Metalcore powerhouse Perpetual Paradox & J-rock Unit 9-Tails after honing my skills further during Covid. Now touring has returned Perpetual has eyes set on this summer’s European defiance tour, with new music and a bolstered line-up at the helm. Inspirations are the Late great Nick Menza, Chris Adler, Tapani Fagerstrom, Matt Greiner & Jai Patel
