BIO

I have played drums since the age of 12, studied Orchestral Percussion at school and took out of school Drum Kit lessons with Lee Agnew (Nazareth). After leaving school, I studied Orchestral Percussion at Napier University in Edinburgh with Heather Corbett (Principal Percussion, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra). On graduation, I progressed to the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, studying Orchestral Percussion with Pam Dow and Martin Gibson (Royal Scottish National Orchestra) and Kit/Latin with Dave Hassell. While studying I played with original rock band “Bartok” touring extensively throughout the UK and recording at Glasgow’s CAVA studios. After graduating from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama I secured a Percussion and Kit teaching position with East Dunbartonshire Council Instrumental Music Service and I am now Senior Instrumental Instructor teaching 3 days per week. I have a busy freelance career and play regularly with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra (Kit and Percussion), BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra (Percussion), Orchestra of Scottish Opera (Kit and Percussion). I played Kit and Percussion in touring West End productions of Sunset Boulevard, Fame! The Musical and The Full Monty. I formed the band ‘Bahookie’ in 2000 as a traditional working ceilidh band and the brand has now grown to become an internationally acclaimed Rock/Ceilidh Band who are in demand worldwide. Bahookie have played in many countries both home and abroad including Norway, Oman, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Bangkok, Singapore, Jakarta and Pakistan! I am really excited to join the LDC brand as an endorsee and I look forward to developing my own signature stick.
