Finding Your Perfect Stick
Choosing the right drumstick comes down to three things: feel, weight and application. Lighter, slimmer sticks like our 7A and 7AX suit jazz, brushwork and detailed playing where speed and finesse matter most. All-purpose players tend to gravitate towards a 5A or 5B — tried-and-tested profiles that sit comfortably across rock, pop and everything in between. If you hit hard and play loud, the 2B is built for you: a thicker shaft and acorn tip designed to handle high-volume performances without flinching.
Standard vs. Extended Length
Several of our models come in both standard (16″) and extended 'X' variants (16.5″). The extra half-inch in sticks like the 5AX and 7AX gives you a little more reach around a larger kit and adds subtle leverage, which some players find transforms their technique. If you're unsure, try both — the weight-matching across our range means the difference is genuinely about feel, not inconsistency.
Signature & Specialist Series
Our Simon Dawson – Run For Your Lives Signature stick is built to the exact specification played by Iron Maiden's Simon Dawson on tour — a rare chance to play the real thing rather than an approximation. For drummers dealing with fatigue or injury, the TrueGrip Series (available in 5A and 5AX profiles) features a contoured grip design developed to encourage a more relaxed fulcrum, reduce tension and help you play longer with less effort.
Tip Shapes Matter
Acorn tips — found across much of our range — produce a full, warm tone with a broad contact area on the cymbal. Our 5B offers a choice of tip, letting you tailor the stick to your preferred sound. Generally speaking, nylon tips project brighter and last a little longer, while wood tips give a warmer, more natural tone.
